Summary:

The following events are supposedly what takes place after the events of Hank’s bomb scare.

what happened before today’s events.

The Chairman sits idly by his crackling fire, Richard walks into the stone dark room. Richard Maxwell stands directly in front of the chairman as they continue their conversation. The chairman knew it was risky letting Whit live, but he needed him alive to make his downfall much worse. Richard’s appearance had changed completely since his last visit to Odyssey, he completed plastic surgery and several appearance-changing methods. His given plan to complete was to go undercover and find out new info on the Odysseans running Whit’s End, he needed to comprehend every lock, window, door, and even the number of flooring tiles on each story. The only challenge would be unable to speak since there was no real way to change his voice, he thought about appearing as deaf but that would only complicate things even more.

Renee was working the counter when a man she didn’t recognize walked in. She quickly told the security guard in the back, as she was instructed to do so until Hank was captured. The security guard stood by, the unidentified man walked around the dining room until ordering a wod-fam-choc-sod. Then he sat on a chair in the corner of the shop, he kept looking down and up like he was searching for something, but ultimately there was nothing wrong with observing the shop, Renee knew she did it a lot when she first started. So what was to stop this man to do so? Once the man got his sundae he left, Renee was relieved, she didn’t like the unnerving idea of a kidnapper/bomber on the loose.

As Richard strolled carefully out of the shop and down the steps, making sure not to draw attention to himself, he walked to his left and then with haste flew into the alley on the side of Whit’s End. Jotting down as much as he could remember, Richard crawled behind the dumpster. When he was done writing everything about the first floor he stood up and looked for a way to climb up onto the roof.

Renee scrubbed the counters, she was alone that day since Whit, Connie, and Eugene were in recovery. Connie said she might be able to stop in at some point during the evening, after her therapy. Then something strange happened, Renee swore she saw something move on the security monitor that was placed up front. The movement she saw on the monitor was gone, it was strange nobody was supposed to be back there but staff. Then something confirmed her suspicion as a person dressed in black stood up behind the dumpster. Renee thought it might be Connie, but why would she come in thru the side entrance? Nothing made sense today.

The Whit’s End employee scrambled to get outside to the side alley, when she reached her destination, no one appeared to be in the alley. “Connie” Renee whisper yelled, reaching for the door handle to get back inside, to safety she thought. Once inside, she ran to tell the security man her dilemma. The man assured her that everything would be alright.

Richard ran to his car parked a block away to avoid suspicion, so nobody could link the car to him. Then adjusting the mirrors, speeds off into the night, he now had a perfect blueprint of Whit’s End. He needed to report back to the chairman himself, the chairman said he didn’t need other people messing up all of his plans, thus making a two-person operation. Keeping his left hand on the wheel he called his boss and told him the good news. Whit and his friends had it coming and all it would take was two simple months to set everything up.

Whit felt… Bad. It was the same feeling he had gotten the time Jimmy’s cousin came. He knew something was wrong, except the thing was, nothing was wrong everything seemed almost amazing like a miracle. But everything happened so fast, the way Connie had gotten a text from the chairman since it was helpful to the case, the authorities put it low on their priorities list, but Whit wasn’t convicted he knew they needed to check it out.

Whit’s security guard showed up later in the day, having night security in his schedule until Hank and his partner were caught. This security guard wasn’t one he recognized, which was strange, but he didn’t question it. He was used to being able to carry on a conversation with the guards who usually came, but he didn’t question it and got ready for his nightly routine.

Richard got in his car parked across the street, he watched whit carefully, seeking shadows, movement, and even small sounds until he knew Whit was asleep. He climbed out of his car and walked to the back, he grabbed two chains and the package the chairman had given him, which contained some sort of explosive device that would fire silently not notifying anyone of anything until it was too late. He would need to place it in the basement, where the fire would travel upward.

He entered the basement without any problems, but he knew it wouldn’t be that easy he still needed to lock every door and window. Richard finished setting up the bomb, setting up a thirty-minute timer for the explosion device, he practically flew out of the basement and started prepping the house. Once he finished the bottom layer of the house without any problems he started up the steps to complete the second layer of prepping. A problem arose suddenly, he realized he only had 15 minutes to complete the second layer give or take, taking note of him taking 15 minutes to prep the bottom it might take even longer to lock up everything on the top layer. Richard locked the first window and got the heck out of there.

Whit awoke in his bed, the feeling was back, and he felt terrible. He needed to throw up, he ran to the bathroom but stopped immediately when he found his living room slightly different from the way he left it. The couch looked like it had been moved to be able to reach the window. All of a sudden, Whit heard a crash downstairs, he yelled ‘Who is there, I have security outside ready to take you on!’. Whit was so shocked at the response he got he almost screamed, it was, Richard Maxwell.

Everything made sense, the fact that security wouldn’t speak made him realize that Richard must have been in disguise. “Richard, what’s going on?!” Richard responded ‘Whit you have to help me get this door opened it’s locked and we need to get out now!’ Whit didn’t question anything, he knew Richard was serious. They both tried pushing the door open, but it wouldn’t budge. “Whit, there’s a bomb and it is going to go off any minute,” Richard explained to Whit what was happening, but by the time he finished, the clock showed one minute until the explosion.

The chairman had set Richard up, he couldn’t believe it. Now he and Whit were going to die, a very long and painful death. The clock showed 0 and the room instantly started to fill with smoke. Whit called Richard into the pantry, where it was a little better but still had smoke in it, Richard apologized right before he fell asleep, and never woke up again. Whit tried his best, but the blackness came and he left conciseness.
