Tom’s Last Christmas in Odyssey
Summary:
This is what i think happened on Tom’s last Christmas in odyssey. *warning* This story may be a little more sad than most of the stuff i normally publish.
Tom Riley laid in his hospital bed in Hillingdale Haven, he felt death upon him. Agnes laid across from him in a separate hospital bed. “Merry Christmas everyone.” Said Tom to, Whit, Connie, Eugene, and Bernard who all sat in chairs around the beds. Everyone wore faces of blue, and clothes of black and gray.
Connie always knew this day would come but never thought it would ever occur on Christmas on all days. “It just doesn’t make sense” says connie, “you were so full of life not a month ago.” Today was tom’s last day on earth, so the doctors said anyway. It was very obvious to the eye that Tom was no longer in good health. Tom’s skin color changed from a tanned color to a pale white in a matter of days. “Merry Christmas Tom, I got you this beige apple patterned scarf to wear if you get cold” Connie said. “Thank you Connie, I wish I could see it” said Tom.
Eugene sat on the opposite side of Tom facing the side of Agnes’ face. For the last week, ever since they found out tom had cancer really, he had been trying to figure out what to buy for his dear friend. He had decided on singing old McDonald had a farm on his ukulele since it was Tom’s favorite song. When he was finished he noticed a tear role down towns face as he said “Eugene I think I’ll miss your sining the most”. Eugene ran out into the hallway after Tom said that.
Bernard watched as Eugene ran out into the hallway. He wished to do the same but knew he needed to stay and give tom his final gifts and words. “Tom, I wanted to give you something really special this Christmas but couldn’t think of anything” is what Bernard started with, then continued with “I don’t think ill ever get over well you know so I bought two locket keychains with a picture of us inside” ill keep one and you’ll keep the other he finished with. He couldn’t stand the thought of watching his friend die any longer so he said his goodbye and left.
Whit sat right in front of tom, he had gathered bible verses printed them out and laminated them. Whit and Connie were the only people who remained in the room. “Tom you’re going to a better place and I hope you know that.” “Merry Christmas Tom and you to Agnes”. Shortly after that Connie and Whit both left leaving Agnes to an unconscious Tom, and a very sad yet beautiful Christmas.
This was Tom’s last Christmas in odyssey. Tom entered the most beautiful place ever after Christmas Day.
